Early day climb
Yesterday I went to the bouldering gym to climb some V2s that have been on my mind all week. Managed to get one route through, but the other three are tricky. I feel like one of them is a dyno, and the other one is just at an angle that I’m not used to. The other one is slippery for me, and my overall strength on holding me up on it is a bit difficult. Tried that route more than a handful of times to get some idea of what’s going on.
Either way I was able to get some decent climbing time in, despite the gym still resetting routes this week. I went their earlier (14:00 ish) than the after work crowd so there wasn’t that many people.
Archaeology / Geology Training Call
I also attended an archaeology / geology training call yesterday with the Association for Washington Archaeology (AWA). They gave a really interesting “crash course” on the geological and archaeological history of the Pacific-Northwest. The speaker talked about the early, mid, and late Holocene, shell middens, and kelp highway theory. There were some other cool things, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the training call.
They have a dig scheduled for late-June that I want to attend because they invite pretty much anyone interested in archaeology and geology participate in their trainings, and it would be fun to be part of a dig. The unfortunate problem is that it’s 7.5 hours away from me so not convenient and unlikely I could figure out the logistics.
Breakfast
I made some salmon in the air fryer and cooked a runny egg, then mixed them in a bowl of rice from yesterday. Seasoned with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and soy sauce. It was a good breakfast idea, just a bit too much food though.
Plan for the day?
Well, unfortunately it’s raining for the next week or so in my area so no hiking today or next week. Unless the weather clears up, I might have to stick to being indoors and bouldering. Oh well, it does give me time to catch up on some much important project paperwork and research. Also need to catch up on some vocabulary practice (my vocabulary cards are collecting dust).
Anyway thanks for reading, maybe there will be another post out today who knows?
With spearmint gum and black tea,
