Good Morning 04/28/2024
Yesterday
Yesterday wasn’t that eventful. Like I said the beer really hit me in terms of mental standing. It was a mostly indoors day. The rain also swept through the area for a bit at moments so no hike either.
I wrote a few upcoming posts, worked a bit more on graduate school paperwork, and watched a bit more of SG1. I also went out to grab some barbeque from a local place I’d been meaning to try out. Their food was okay. A good bit of smokiness, but too subtle of sauce flavour for me tastes. The coleslaw was also a bit too wet for my palette.
I also spent a good amount of time transplanting a cassette tape real to another cassette housing. The cassette I have is failing and that transplant just barely kept it going. I’ve been trying to fix it by playing with the under-pad pressure on the tape. It seems that is an issue, but it’s so precise to play with. I think in the end it’s the tape itself and I might need to give it up. Though I wished my Anita Velveeta tape would arrive so I can play that on loop constantly instead!
Guten morgen, god morgon, good morning
I plan on taking a hike or climbing today. Still figuring out what the weather is going to do for the rest of the day. Ideally I want to take my weekly hike while there’s some chance of a clear day. Otherwise I should fit a climb in for that day anyway. Keep the routine going even if it’s just an hour. I also have a “Queer Climb Night” to attend that week anyway- which I always enjoy seeing some of my friends around there!
Besides the usual activities, I’m thinking of making some delicious desserts for myself. Something with chocolate, pastry dough, ugh. Something nice light and fluffy, but not too sugary. I’ve considered making cake or Berliners, or some sort of Swiss dessert. I’ve been missing Switzerland cuisine more recently again. Since the local Swiss restaurant doesn’t have that many desserts it’s up to me to make up for that gap in coverage.
I still need to potentially swing by Tandy Leather to get some materials for my geology hammer sheath. I may also get a riveting too to make some durable anchor points. It would be useful for my future trowel (at this point I’m pretty sure it’s inevitable with all the volunteer stuff I’m very interested in). I also need to restock on coffee beans because of the amount of coffee I’ve been drinking with this espresso machine. Anyway that’s about all that’s planned, not a heavily booked Sunday since it is Sunday hours in most places. That or I’m too used to such a thing in Europe when everything is closed Sunday.
With chocolate cake in leather holster,
